Evie is a junior at Stanford University in the US spending the fall (well, Spring here!) studying in Santiago. During her "real life," she's an American history major also working on an honors thesis about the ethics of food and the environment; she also serves as the Stanford Daily's chief (and often only) food writer. Here in Chile, she's on a quest to find the best of Santiago cuisine (mayonaise-free, preferably), spend enough time outdoors that she forgets how to operate most small kitchen appliances, and maybe even learn to speak a Spanish that's actually comprehensible to the Chilean ear.
